Firstly, for the locals, we can volunteer at the Earthworks Garden in Detroit, from 9 am – 12 pm on September 25th. The volunteer director there isn’t counting on us to fill all the spots, but they could use a maximum of 12 volunteers.
Here’s a link to the Earthworks volunteer page.
Our second opportunity calls on our knitting and crocheting friends! Warm Up America volunteers can donate their time to crochet and knit a 7″ x 9″ rectangle (or more). Sections are either joined by individuals or groups in a community and donated locally or sent to Foundation headquarters for joining and distribution.
I’d like to encourage some of our long-distance commune supporters to get in on this, if they can crochet or knit. If YOU can’t, can you ask someone you know to make a rectangle for you?
I’d love it if we could get enough squares to make an afghan or two which we could then donate locally. I see a lot of red & white yarn being employed here. 🙂
Thanks everyone, and Let’s Go Red Wings!
